Tom Johnson is a rare combination of a Coach and a Player. Having reached the pinnacle of playing success on the PGA Tour, he has firsthand experience competing at the highest level. He is also a versed student of the game, having received instruction from the top instructors in the sport, including the world's top ranked golf instructor for 18 consecutive years, Butch Harmon. Johnson has also worked closely with Craig Harmon, Bill Harmon, Brad Faxon, Dave Stockton, Patrick Goss, Fred Shoemaker and Jim Sochor.
"My approach has always been to learn from the best. I'm a byproduct of the Tiger Woods effect, trying to meet the bar that he raised."
Johnson has operated under the premise that there is no secret to golf, but if there were, it is in all of the details. This philosophy has resulted in a wealth of knowledge in nearly every aspect of the game.
"Swing mechanics are very important, but so are short game, putting, the mental game, how to practice and compete. The list goes on."
