Competition as a Classroom: Practice vs. Performance

Bobby Jones once noted that tournament golf is a "different game entirely," and my experience confirms this. There is a fundamental distinction between "practice golf" and "performance golf".

  • The Range is for Questions: The driving range is a laboratory where we explore mechanics, data, and the "how" of the motion.

  • The Course is for Answers: Once you step onto the first tee, the time for questioning ends. The course is where we commit to our start lines and trust our preparation.

  • Narrowing the Miss: We do not strive to eliminate mistakes; we strive to narrow them. Mastery is found in making your "misses" manageable through disciplined intention.
